Sheriff's Office Arrests Two Suspects in Homicide Investigation
Lancaster, SC(Friday 03/09/2012) – On Friday 03/09/2012 the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests in shooting death of Jenika Jones that occurred in January. Investigators are also actively seeking a third suspect. Investigators have charged and arrested Devatee Clinton (B/M DOB 09/06/1987: Address 1911 Roseanna Ln. Lancaster) and Wayne Blakeney (B/M DOB:10/22/1991 Address: 5987 Taxahaw Rd. Lancaster) with the murder that occurred during a robbery at the home.
Both subjects are incarcerated at the Lancaster County Detention.

On Thursday, 01-19-2012 Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 1963 Roseanna Ln., Lancaster, SC regarding some type of disturbance. A neighbor called 911 after a child came from the residence beating on their door and three people were seen running from the residence. When Deputies arrived they found the door to the residence open and located the victim 23 year old Jenika Jones deceased on the couch. Jones who lived at the residence appeared to have been shot to death.
Criminal Investigators, Crime Scene Investigators, and K-9 tracking deputies arrived on scene and began a detailed investigation.
Sheriff Faile said, “This has been a long and tedious investigation. We are thankful that we were able to remove these violent criminals from the street and hopefully bring some closure to the Jones family. Our investigators left no stone unturned and worked very hard to put this case together. I am grateful for that hard work. I plan to work with the Solicitor’s Office to see that these individuals are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
