Sheriff's Office Receives Grant
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that we have received a grant for $1,783.83.

The Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP), created by the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998 is a unique U.S. Department of Justice initiative designed to provide a critical resource to state and local law enforcement. Since 1999, over 13,000 jurisdictions have participated in the BVP Program, with $277 million in federal funds committed to support the purchase of an estimated 800,000 vests. The Office of Justice Programs' Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) administers the BVP Program.

This is a 50% match grant.  We were awarded $1,783.83 which is 50% of the cost for 5 Ballistic Vests for officers.  Over the last four years the Sheriff’s Office has received $19,542 in grants from the Bulletproof Vest Partnership to help equip deputies with ballistic vests.
Sheriff Faile said, “We are extremely pleased to receive this grant.  It’s nice to know that we can use this money to purchase the needed equipment and not have to rely on Lancaster County funds.  Our grants officer works really hard to acquire and manage these grants and I am thankful for that hard work.”
